Thank you for the important reminder, Brigitte, that we do indeed live in a subjective world. Some have even argued whether or not pure objectivity exists, but my understanding is that folks who become deeply enlightened see a Deeper Truth that does indeed bond us together.
I always love how you borrow from so many wonderful sources to make your point. (And, although that's merely MY perception, I'm sure others would agree!!)
Thank you Larry, I‘m glad you liked it, and I feel we all need these occasional reminders (sometimes delivered as shocks) about these deeper truths and levels of reality and consciousness!
You didn't say anything about Sofia Bonati here, and I hadn't heard of her before, but the image you included here was integral to the effectiveness and allure of this piece. I'm happy to have been introduced to Bonati's work through your essay. There's some Frida Kahlo in her style it seems, but that quality of cutting through to see the essence beneath is very present in her stunning work.
"What you believe to be true defines the boundaries of what’s possible in your life." For me this says it all. Thank you Brigitte!
Isn’t that a stunner!? Thank you so much for reading, Dana.

Agreed. Sometimes (speaking for myself) it actually TAKES a shock to get me to notice.
YES, same ✨
I love this essay. +1 to Scott’s book, and I need to read more Woolf!
Thank you Bob, and yessss and Yes!!

I discovered Bonati’s work only quite recently too, and I knew this was *the image* for this piece the moment I saw and got pierced by it!
