"What you believe to be true defines the boundaries of what’s possible in your life." For me this says it all. Thank you Brigitte!

This essay is vibrating in unison with my experience of reality, and I find this deeply exciting.

You didn't say anything about Sofia Bonati here, and I hadn't heard of her before, but the image you included here was integral to the effectiveness and allure of this piece. I'm happy to have been introduced to Bonati's work through your essay. There's some Frida Kahlo in her style it seems, but that quality of cutting through to see the essence beneath is very present in her stunning work.

I discovered Bonati’s work only quite recently too, and I knew this was *the image* for this piece the moment I saw and got pierced by it!

I was also going to comment of how well this image of Bonati fits the overall theme of the essay, but i saw that it is already noticed and beautifully commented upon. She is an amazing artist, had the pleasure of meeting her in London few years ago. Have also few books illustrated by her, she captures the souls of her subject.

Well that is amazing, Lilia! Thank you for sharing this and rendering Sofia‘s image(s) even more special to me.

Brigitte - what a deep and evocative journey. I was totally immersed when this expression of yours brought everything home for me.

“We typically don’t reorganize our lives around a single revelation like the one in this example. More often, transformation happens more slowly and through gradual shifts in our ways of seeing this: we adjust our perception about the world and how we relate to our own potential.”

Thank you for taking the time to explore at the depth you do. It's refreshing and touches us all.

Brigitte, this came together so beautifully. As usual, I’m amazed by the depth and breadth of your reading, and by the way you weave these different voices together so naturally.

I especially loved the Scott Britton quote about the higher self continually trying to bring us into alignment. What a beautiful and comforting thought. It really does often feel as though life, or the universe, is nudging us through small synchronicities when we’re paying attention.

And I loved the closing quote from Woolf as well. The whole idea of peering behind “the cotton wool” of our perception feels so apt. This piece is such a beautiful reminder to keep looking for the places where my own perception might expand, soften, or open into something larger.

Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you for these kind words and sharing what resonates the most with you. You know, I also believe in this whole participatory, co-creative thing that’s at work in our becoming, and I just love that you are part of the making of "my world“, I am a little part of yours. 🩶

Thank you for the important reminder, Brigitte, that we do indeed live in a subjective world. Some have even argued whether or not pure objectivity exists, but my understanding is that folks who become deeply enlightened see a Deeper Truth that does indeed bond us together.

I always love how you borrow from so many wonderful sources to make your point. (And, although that's merely MY perception, I'm sure others would agree!!)

Thank you Larry, I‘m glad you liked it, and I feel we all need these occasional reminders (sometimes delivered as shocks) about these deeper truths and levels of reality and consciousness!

Larry Urish's avatar

Agreed. Sometimes (speaking for myself) it actually TAKES a shock to get me to notice.

YES, same ✨
